If no fiscal cliff agreement is met, middle class families will be hit

with one comment

This video from NBCNews.com informs viewers about what will happen if a fiscal cliff agreement is not met soon. The segment shows a family of three and the mother, director of a non-profit organization, discusses money issues. The video shows the average figure of how much extra families could have to pay in taxes. I feel the video had a huge impact because I’ve been hearing stuff about this “fiscal cliff” but it didn’t really hit me until I saw this video. It seemed more realistic and hit closer to home. Unfortunately, I had trouble uploading it, so I had to link it.

A view on politics from a non diverse crowd.

When I was in Vegas for fall break I attended a political rally for President Obama, because I thought it would be an interesting opportunity and because it would be good for this project. I really wanted views from both political parties, but I suppose this will suffice.

With so many television advertisements and full coverage of the 2012 Presidential Election blasted everywhere, it was good to hear how some of the students at The University of Southern Mississippi felt about the two candidates running for office. Take a look.

Opinions on Presidential Election 2012 from Southern Miss Students

leave a comment »

People have varying opinions about President Barack Obama and presidential candidate Mitt Romney. This does not exclude university students. Despite the view that students are generally not well informed about politics, many have well-developed opinions. Students at the University of Southern Mississippi shared their ideas in this audio slideshow interview. Students were asked who they supported in the presidential election, if they kept up with information regarding the election and debates, and why voting is important.

This audio slideshow was meant to be an honest representation of the political views of a selection of college students at Southern Miss.
