New Orleans Jazz Fest Strikes Again!

leave a comment »

While Weekend One of New Orleans’ Annual Jazz Music and Arts Festival was a huge success, Weekend Two is anticipated to attract even more of a crowd. John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band, and Band of Horses were just some of the main attractions present on the Weekend One stages. Weekend Two is welcoming Maroon 5, Phoenix, and Frank Ocean. The Black Keys as well as Hall & Oates will be returning to the Cajun scene once again for Jazz Fest. Regular performers in the Downtown Hattiesburg scene, Space Capone and Flow Tribe, are also set to be on stage this year. For more information on lineups and tickets, visit the Jazz Fest website. Why not change up your normal weekend plans, and take a stroll through Cajun country while enjoying some of today’s hottest performers?

Don’t miss this opportunity to fill out all supporting information. If you aren’t interested in traveling abroad in Spain, maybe you would like to study in Costa Rica? Whatever the case, there is still time. For Spanish in Costa Rica, please contact Mary Ann Stewart, the program coordinator.
Here is the link below if anyone is interested:) I hope you consider studying abroad this summer.

A more exciting workout routine

When we talk about working out, the first thing that pops into my head is going to the gym and lifting weights or running. Usually the second things that pops into my head are team sports, such as: basketball, football, volleyball and swimming.  The last thing I think of, when I think of working out is stuff like ping pong, and spin classes. Well, there are many other nontraditional ways to get in shape. In this day and age, just about anything can be considered “exercise.” Well, since our project was a video story and it had to have “action” in it, I decided to get my roommate who is in much better shape than I am, to show us some of her Zumba techniques since she teaches it. For anybody interested in taking classes, the Payne center offers them several times a week.

**I know it looks awkward with her being alone, my original plan was to record a class, but you guys know how plans go…. I’m just happy she was so accommodating.
