with one comment

Weight loss stories are all around us but this one is a little different.  At only nine years old, Breanna Bond weighed an astonishing 186 pounds.  Her mother was terrified for her health but could not convince her daughter to push through a single workout.  However, with the help of her mom and specialists, Breanna was able to lose 65 pounds in under a year.  Breanna and her mother now work out everyday for at least an hour and 15 minutes.  The kids at school no longer tease her and she feels great about the new and confident person she is becoming. http://www.cnn.com/2012/12/04/health/child-weight-loss-bond/index.html?hpt=hp_c2

leave a comment »

If you were a fan of the hit show “Sister Sister” Tia and Tamera will forever be those twins you always saw hiding from Rodger or finding a way to defy what their parents told me.  But in reality, Tia and Tamera are no longer those friendly twin girls from next door.  In this video, Tia and Tamera answer some questions from fans and even offer a sneak listen at their hidden singing ability.  Tia and Tamera have always been a favorite of mine because throughout all of their money and success they still remain humble.

The Wizards defeat the Heat

Looks like one city is on a pretty big mission after the Wizards steal a victory from the reigning champions, the Miami Heat.  With the victorious RG3 in attendance, the Wizards keep the city of Washington on top of sports news.  Even with his triple double performance; Lebron James could not do enough to stop the Wizards after they took a stunning 105-101 victory over Miami. http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/wizards-vs-heat-washington-pulls-a-shocker-with-105-101-upset-of-defending-champion-miami/2012/12/04/be1654be-3e82-11e2-bca3-aadc9b7e29c5_story.html

leave a comment »

Even a thousand words couldn’t help Eddie Murphy remain off the Forbes overpaid actors list.  In fact, he is number one when it comes to being the most over paid actor as of this year.  Alongside other big name actors and actresses, Murphy’s latest work has not been up to par.  According to Forbes calculations, Murphy is only returning  $2.30 for every dollar he was paid for his last three films.  http://www.cnn.com/2012/12/04/showbiz/celebrity-news-gossip/eddie-murphy-forbes-overpaid-actors/  This link provides a more detailed account along with a list of other stars who made the list as well.

Magician’s head is set on fire

with one comment

Magicians don’t always play with fire.  U.S. magician, Wayne Houchin is currently spending his time in the hospital after a TV host in the Dominican Republic set his hair on fire.  Houchin was appearing as a guest on the popular Dominican Republic show, “Approach the Stars”.  Franklin Barazarte put a flammable liquid on Houchin’s head, which immediately burst into flames.  Houchin is planning on taking legal actions and a warrant has been issued for Barazarte’s arrest.  This video captures the entire thing and even shows a peek of Houchin’s injuries. http://gma.yahoo.com/blogs/abc-blogs/magician-wayne-houchin-catches-fire-133041866–abc-news-topstories.html

Routine traffic stop saves man’s life

leave a comment »

A routine traffic stop possibly saves a man’s life after three people beat, kidnapped and tied him down in the trunk of his own car.  22 year old Shawn Bloemer was at work at the Circle K gas station when Joseph Davis, Brittany Elder and Trent Blyde stole his car before putting him in the trunk of it.  Bloemer heard police asking about insurance and registration and began to scream and beat on the inside of the trunk to get their attention.  Bloemer is in good condition and very thankful for the officers who were just doing their jobs that night.

RG3 does it again

leave a comment »

RG3 does it, again!  The Washington Redskin’s quarterback, Robert Griffin III (RG3) led his team to victory again with a 17-16 win over the New York Giants.  Just last year, RG3 was turning heads with his impressive skills for Baylor and now he’s doing just the same but on a bigger level.  It did not matter that he broke Cam Newton’s record for most rushing yards for a rookie, nor did it matter that his passer rating against NFC East teams is 135.3.  What mattered was his ability to pull off a win when his team seemed to be outplayed. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl–robert-griffin-iii-still-marquee-attraction-long-after-saving-the-redskins-again-074522553.html
