Jimmy Kimmel’s Mean Tweets: NBA Edition

Opinions, every one has them and everyone shares them. This day in age it has become easier with the multitude of social media sites for everyone and their mother to say whatever is on their mind. I believe no matter who you are, there should be some professional standard on social media. It’s just common sense that some things shouldn’t be said on a site where everyone can see it, but that’s Freedom of Speech for you. It just amazes me how people can say hurtful things about others, especially if they have never met them. Even though this video stars public figures, it doesn’t exempt the people saying hurtful things from having terrible attitudes. This is the beginning of bullying of innocent people via media applications. I think that Jimmy Kimmel’s Mean Tweets segment is a good way of exposing these “bullies” by also making it funny and also showing victims of bullying that it means nothing, to just laugh it off. Hopefully these true cowards who hide behind their Twitter Handles and Screen Names will stop sharing their hurtful opinions online, before it gets serious.
