With the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament roughly two weeks away, many teams are fighting for spots in the bracket of 64. Conference games have become crucial to the success of the season and conference tournaments will see pivotal match ups between some really good teams.

The Atlantic Coastal Conference has seen much surprise in the basketball world this year. The Miami Hurricanes surprised many basketball critics with their success in conference play and overall play. Nevertheless, ACC powerhouse, Duke Blue Devils made a statement tonight which reminded critics that they are still- a powerhouse in the ACC, national championship contender, and the dominant team in the ACC.

Tonight, the return of Ryan Kelly  was a success for the Blue Devils. Although he had not played since Jan. 8 due to injury and only ran a few drills during warm up, he shocked the basketball world with his performance tonight. His 36 points to help his team beat #5 Miami will go down as one of the best performances in the history of Duke basketball, according to head coach Mike Krzyzewski.

With the win, this helps basketball analysts to erase in a sense the lost against Virginia a few days ago. With Kelly back in the lineup, he is the pivotal key to their success. This year, if they use the strength and motivation of this game, they have a chance to win the ACC tournament and be a strong competitor for winning the national championship this year. Kelly’s performance tonight was only one of many reasons he is the “blue factor to Duke’s success”.
