Consumerism and the Identification of Logos

I recently read an article about a new-ish app that is now available on the App Store and Google Play. The app which is called The Logos Quiz, is all about the gamer’s ability to identify specific logos out of more than 500 international brands. In the article Andrew Leonard spoke of the fascination with which he watched his fifteen year old play this game.

In a consumer driven society, it doesn’t surprise us when our favorite shows start having so much product placement that we think we’re watching a commercial. And this new game just takes it one step further. The article also comments on the fact that for a small fee you can remove the advertisements which pop up during game play. It seems strange that there is an option to remove the ads from ad game.

All in all I found the article interesting, and though it didn’t contain much in the way of multimedia, this image was interesting enough to grab my attention.
