Death In the Silo

leave a comment »

This video is about an incident in 2011 involving 18-year-old Tommy Osier. This young man actually suffocated in a grain bin. Through the use of a voiceover and one of his friends we learn who Tommy was and we feel Linda Osier’s pain as she described the events following Tommy’s release from the bin, the state of his body and the last time she hugged her son. It is surprising that after the number of individuals who have died in silos nothing has ever been done. These adults should really take extra measures to protects their workers— especially these children— because while they are their supervision they are their responsibility.
