The Tornado That Shook Hattiesburg
Today , 10 February 13 Hattiesburg, Ms. experienced severe tornadoes in several parts of the city as well as the southern area of the University of Southern Mississippi campus. Faculty and students received a cautionary email several days prior informing those that would be in the county that there was a chance of severe weather. In this video posted by Youtube channel name: LiveStormsNetwork, we clearly see the tornado in route from the interstate towards the college campus. It moved from 40- 50 miles per hour. The University of Southern Mississippi was severely damaged as well as other schools such as Oak Grove High School. Several schools that experienced the weather will not open tomorrow (Monday, 11 February). The city is currently under a state of emergency after over 5,000 people have been reported to be powerless and the many damaged and destroyed vehicles, homes, and businesses.
Very timely post, Anna! Thanks for posting it. That video is making the rounds. It is horrendous. What a big funnel cloud! It will take a while for the campus to get back to normal, but thank God nobody was killed.

Thank you for commenting! I was on campus in my dorm as the tornado came and left and it was an experience I hope to never repeat. See you in class on Monday!
